Word Count
The word count is the number of words in a selection of text or a document: this is useful for estimating how long it will take to read, gaining a rough measure of the complexity of the content or how long it may have taken to compose the text. At its simplest, this is expressed as the number of words (separated by white space). Additional information about character counts and estimates of lenght of time to read can be generated from the the text and its word count.
